LA PAZ – COPACABANA – CITY TOUR, pick up from your hostel at 7:30 and taking you to Copacabana in a 4 hours drive.
COPACABANA, on the road you will see an impressive view of the Cordillera Real as well as the world famous Lake Titicaca. Once we arrive to the town we will have lunch in this picturesque small town on the shores of Lake Titicaca (Lago Titicaca). At an altitude of around 3800 meters the lake is said to be the highest navegable lake in the world and is a popular tourist destination.
COPACABANA – LA PAZ, after having breakfast we will take the ferry to the MOON ISLAND is situated east from the bigger Isla del Sol. According to legends that refer to Inca Mythology Isla de la Luna ("Island of the Moon") is where Viracocha commanded the rising of the moon. Ruins of a supposed Inca nunnery (Mamakuna) that occupied the oriental shore.
The structures seen on the island today were built by the Incas (ca. 1450-1532) directly over the earlier Tiwanaku ones.
SUN ISLAND, we’ll visit the Pilcocaina ruins: archeological center. Later we will have a short walk for the perrons of built Yumani: old road where our ancestors walked, road that leads to the fountain of youth.
We will go back to the Hotel for having dinner and spending the night in the island.
We will take our last view from the sun island. Take the ferry back to Copacabana and walk around the town to visit the Church and the free market. Finally at noon we will have lunch and then at 18:30pm we will take the bus to come back to La Paz city or in the case you are on your way to Peru you can take the bus to Puno (Peru).
Then, we get into the world’s most dangerous road this ride takes between three to four hours finishing at Yolosa where you will have buffet iunch and the chance to refresh yourself either having a cold shower or a swim in the pool.
You will enjoy this day crossing waterfalls on the way and appreciating a biodiversity of landscapes. Finally, you will come back to La Paz and you will get a DVD with pictures and videos of the ride and a cool t-shirt as a survivor.
